How We Work
MicroLux works with homeowners, builders, interior designers and architects completing significant renovations, new builds and architect-led projects across Melbourne's inner east, bayside and surrounds.
We accept a limited number of projects each quarter and work to a minimum project scope. Most clients engage us for full bathroom installations, complete floor transformations, or significant feature wall projects — typically working alongside their architect, builder or interior designer.
Every project begins with an on-site consultation and written substrate readiness report, followed by a sample sign-off in your home before installation begins. The process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks from initial consultation to handover.

Complete Project Documentation
Every installation is fully documented — surface assessment, substrate preparation, installation process with materials and product batch numbers, warranty certificate, and a personalised Care & Maintenance Guide provided at handover.
Sample Sign-Off Process
A sample board is reviewed in your space before installation begins. You approve the finish in writing before work starts.

Hey, I'm Alex, Director of MicroLux Finishes.
I created MicroLux because I kept seeing the same problem across Melbourne's better homes. Homeowners had the budget for a beautiful finish, but no clear way to tell which microcement installers were genuinely qualified to deliver it.
Too many operators are still cutting corners. Wrong substrate prep, inferior products, no documentation, and clients are left with failing finishes and no recourse. The work looks fine on day one. A year later, the cracks tell a different story.
Microcement is all we do. We chose to specialise exclusively in it because we wanted to become the best at it, not generalists who offer it as an add-on. I've personally tested almost every microcement system on the market. Many don't perform as claimed, particularly on floors and in wet areas. That's why I only use the products I know deliver, follow a fully documented process from assessment to handover, and back every job with the guarantees to prove it.
